Packaged nice and tight and better than the Playstation 4 in that respect,Kinnect is about the size of the Playstation 4 but the picture is far superior I have to say that, not saying that the camera is no good on the Playstation 4 but side by side Microsoft camera obviously is of higher quality.

All the better to watch you with wink

time2die in my view batteries is actually far superior, I will give my reasons.

Batteries are cheap, and if using rechargeables you can charge a spare set whilst using the current set in the controller. Meaning its never wired, whilst plug and play is wired hilst charging.
Plug and play kits if those batteries fail you have to buy an expensive replacement.

I actually brought a bettery case for my wireless 360 controller (it came with some native microsoft thing), and compared to the wii-u game tablet which comes with its own AC adaptor (ouch) its far superior.

I am curious why you think replaceable batteries are so bad.

On my 360 controller I am using 2000mah energizer batteries they last at an estimate of about 60-80 hours of gaming time and they charge in an hour.

My ps3 controller that came with the ps3 I brought is plug and play, and it seems to charge at a very slow trickle then when the cable is unplugged it doesnt last anywhere near as long as my energizer batteries.

So if the xbox one comes with removable batteries it has my vote.

In my view install times dont mean much, you only have to install a game once. Unless the install times are ridicously slow like hours long. To me 10 mins install time is nothing, I am used to 20 mins install times on the 360. In regards to the ps4 been fully installed in 5 minutes of around a 50 gig game? Thats 10 gig a minute, a lot of data transfer. I am assuming also this is on your old 5400rpm hdd, A 6x bluray drive reads at max of 216mb/sec, which I think be approx 25-26mB/sec, at that speed it doesnt seem likely that much data be copied in 5 minutes, but the ps4 may be reporting complete before its completed or not actually doing full installs. With all that said tho user experience is important and no matter what may be happening under the hood you have a experience of a much shorter install on the ps4. But it seems with that aside the xbox one dash is better in other things?

I agree ultimately its about the games, in my view xbox1 is winning there, but both consoles have a poor limited lineup at the moment, I need to wait a couple of years at least to see if any are worthwhile for me.

Currently sat mucking about on the Playroom with the kids. Got the Vita connected as second screen (automatically) drawing stuff and flicking it onto the TV for the little nipbots to play with. Simple application, entertaining and works perfectly.

And I'm sat in my Superman onesy, just in case anybody is looking in. That'll learn 'em! tongue

Don't think it will need a couple of years mate before we will see some outstanding games, personally I think within 6 months, watchdogs and Infamous second son look truly next gen if you see them on the Xbox one and Playstation 4.

What I meant by the Xbox one controller is it's equipped with standard batteries and not rechargeable kits like the 360 had.

I had a lovely charging station for the 360 that took 2 side by side units for the Xbox 360 controller and it was a breath if fresh air,I know I can go out and buy rechargeable batteries and a charger for it so what do you recommend instead of this plug and play stuff.

On the Playstation 4 install times,I might have exaggerated a little on the install times, but believe me mate it's way way quicker than the Xbox One and you can play a game within seconds and it was 10 minutes and 20% install before you could even start to play Dead Rising 3.

You really are looking at the play menu in around a minute on most of the games I have installed. BF4 and COD took a little longer (because they are third party I suspect) but only by a minute or two.

There is a separate chip on the PS4 working in the background that speeds up the process tremendously. The read speed isn't the Xbox Ones' weakness. It's the actual application process that's longer.

On a purely technical level there is no reason why the drives shouldn't load in similarly swift fashion, other than the PS4's clever second chip in parallel operation. That in mind, an Xbox One firmware update won't improve things.

EDIT: Found this on Google.

"Assassin's Creed IV:
Xbox One (offline, no update): 5 minutes 50 seconds
Xbox One (with update, fastest connection): 7 minutes 2 seconds
Xbox One (with update, 10Mbps connection): 10 minutes 32 seconds
PS4: 42 seconds

The rest of these were tested on our office Wi-Fi which is around 9-11Mbps. It may have been faster on a wired connection, but you can compare your own connection speed here. These are our results

Need For Speed Rivals:
XBO: 09:25 (including update)
PS4: 00:32

Just Dance 2014:
XBO: 08:48 (including update)
PS4: 00:45

NBA Live 14:
XBO: 16:26 (including update)
PS4: 00:35

FIFA 14:
XBO: 16:06 (including update)
PS4: 00:34

Madden 25:
XBO: 9:38 (including update)
PS4: 00:38"

I bought a 3m USB lead so I don't have a problem charging my PS3 controller whilst playing. I do use a wired controller usually but can't with GTA V as it doesn't react quick enough. I don't understand why people seem so anti cable these days
