time2die in my view batteries is actually far superior, I will give my reasons.
Batteries are cheap, and if using rechargeables you can charge a spare set whilst using the current set in the controller. Meaning its never wired, whilst plug and play is wired hilst charging.
Plug and play kits if those batteries fail you have to buy an expensive replacement.
I actually brought a bettery case for my wireless 360 controller (it came with some native microsoft thing), and compared to the wii-u game tablet which comes with its own AC adaptor (ouch) its far superior.
I am curious why you think replaceable batteries are so bad.
On my 360 controller I am using 2000mah energizer batteries they last at an estimate of about 60-80 hours of gaming time and they charge in an hour.
My ps3 controller that came with the ps3 I brought is plug and play, and it seems to charge at a very slow trickle then when the cable is unplugged it doesnt last anywhere near as long as my energizer batteries.
So if the xbox one comes with removable batteries it has my vote.
In my view install times dont mean much, you only have to install a game once. Unless the install times are ridicously slow like hours long. To me 10 mins install time is nothing, I am used to 20 mins install times on the 360. In regards to the ps4 been fully installed in 5 minutes of around a 50 gig game? Thats 10 gig a minute, a lot of data transfer. I am assuming also this is on your old 5400rpm hdd, A 6x bluray drive reads at max of 216mb/sec, which I think be approx 25-26mB/sec, at that speed it doesnt seem likely that much data be copied in 5 minutes, but the ps4 may be reporting complete before its completed or not actually doing full installs. With all that said tho user experience is important and no matter what may be happening under the hood you have a experience of a much shorter install on the ps4. But it seems with that aside the xbox one dash is better in other things?
I agree ultimately its about the games, in my view xbox1 is winning there, but both consoles have a poor limited lineup at the moment, I need to wait a couple of years at least to see if any are worthwhile for me.
