A little assistance and advice if possible.
I have posted previously regarding slow speeds with BT, noise levels and IP profile etc.
A little bit of background, I have tested with BT Wholesale and the standard result shows ADSL max should be available on my line between 5 and 8 Mbps. I have complained to BT on many occasions regarding my IP being set constantly at 3000k thereby restricting my IP throughput to approx 2.5.
Three engineers have visited my house to check the line, the last time I was told there was an ' issue ' with my line they were going to fix, i assumed the engineer had some sort of solution but all he did was the same tests the others had performed telling me the line should support 5 mbps. Prior to his visit the sync speed had slowly risen to 5000 and the IP profile had gone up to 4000k with out IP throughput speeds showing 3.7.
With all his line tests i.e. disconnecting my service whilst he performed his tests ( why do they not use my equipment to perform the tests rather than connect to a different server ? that seems to allow them to quote results back that bear no relation to what I am getting ) the IP profile has again dropped to 3000k, he visited lunch time Thursday and now 5 days on with a stable sync speed of 4800 the IP profile is still 3000k.
The figures I have as of 1830 are as follows :
Connection speed Down 4832 Up 448
Line attenuation Down 41 up 11.5
Noise margin during the day is a steady 15 come 1700 hours its all over the place from + 2 to - 2
My last BT speedtester result confirms the above figures with a throughput speed of 2785, other testing sites confirm these figures to be accurate.
BT Wholesale and retail keep passing the responsibility back and forth, from the figures above should I be getting a faster IP throughput speed ? how do the wholesale division get away with saying my line should support in excess of 5 but then delivering a lower figure ?
A thread some weeks ago suggested that one of the contributors to this forum may be able to make some enquiries about ' stuck ' IP profile speeds, I would be grateful for any assistance that could be offered.
