Long emails

[link to this post]

Hi I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where I can get a short email I just signed up for a new package broadband but the email they gave me is a mouth full so originaly I signed up for a tiscali account (dialup Pay & Go) and used that email but I seem to be flooded with spam on it so I wanted to try another one but not sure who does dial up anymore and it has to be a short email address so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Buy your own domain - make the email as short as you like.
Using www.123-reg.co.uk for example you can forward that email to your ISP email account.

I think gmails are now no longer available due to ligation in the states but Google are now offering googelmail instead!

My old gmail account works great and I have been impressed with Google's servers - my only issues with free emails are professionalism and will they one day be charged for? If so, you might as well lease your own as one of the previous posters stated.

Good luck - Blue

Ps. If you do decide on a googlemail, drop me a PM and I'll offer you an invite as I don't think you can sign up without one...

Yep, worth spending a small amount of dosh to make sure you have exactly the email address you want.

Also, if you have the tech knowhow and cash, setup your own email server - waaaay less spam, can create and delete accounts on the fly, you have control over storage of YOUR mails, and many other privacy things.

Definitely don't use gmail or anything like it, they scan every mail sent / received then target you with ads AND they harvest email addresses, so anyone who sends to you or receives from you goes on their database like it or not.

Google is evil.

That's the reason why I don't use gmail - it's an invasion of privacy in my opinion!
