Changing ISP (Pipex to Be) easily

[link to this post]

Hi. I live in a house with 5 other students and after months of being traffic shaped for torrenting we've had enough and decided to give Be a try. We're currently with Pipex. Any suggestions on the easiest way to migrate, preferably without too much disruption to our precious service? We've been with Pipex for over a year so I believe we're now on a monthly contract and so can cancel at the end of the month. All advice appreciated as we've never changed isps before!

Just call Pipex and ask for your MAC code then call BE and give them the MAC code. Simple Just need to time it with billing so you dont end up paying both ISP to much.

Just to clarify, the MAC code provided by the losing ISP gives your new ISP authority to change the service.

It is designed to be almost seamless, so down time is limited for a few hours at best.

Did you check that your BT Exchange is Be enabled, just in case??

Yup I have checked that Be is available in my area so should be good to go. Didn't realise the down time would be so small, I was anticipating a week or something horrific without net access. Thanks a lot, I shall ring up and ask for the MAC code when i've reached the end of this months contract.
