Wiring adsl nation NTE5 face plate

[link to this post]

Hi
Well we hired a cow boy to wire our master and ext. The Extensions and main line have been connected together to the back of the master socket. I was told this is why I can't get faster BB.
At the back of the face plate there is a A&B terminals and an idc terminal block. My modem is on the extension. So I connect my ext wiring onto the IDC connector right?

The cow boy also didn't use standard cabling. On the master socket there are 3 terminals I was wondering how they match up to the IDC terminals? I did try to connect it to the face plate but I couldn't even get my modem to sync. what can I now because I don't know which to connect to 2 and which to 5. It's only 2 &5 I need right?

Some photos of the wiring at the master socket and the extension would come in useful. Upload them to something like Photo Bucket.

Do you mean an NTE factplate as fitted as standard by BT or an ADSL faceplate with a phone and ADSL socket on the front?
Photo's would indeed help.

SIr, I hope you realise you are in breach of your TnCs with BT tampering with the master socket wiring. Assuming your cowboy did touch the incoming cabling and the master itself, have you considered getting BT to rectify their faux pas and billing said cowboy with a polite threat that you will drop him in it with BT for doing the work in the first instance if he does not pay?

None the less, I hope you have got it resolved.
