bt speed checker adsl2+

should it only work for adsl 1? I get a message saying an error has occured when getting my details. I keep getting this message I use the bt speed test

That's the reason the BT speedtester won't work for you - you are with an LLU provider (which means that O2 have their own equipment in the BT exchange, rather than using BT's, so BT know nothing about your ADSL login etc)
The WBC trials are the BT ADSL2+ trials, which have started recently.
