Looking to get broadband... ISPs?

[link to this post]

I am on the most basic exchange with only ADSL and ADSLmax from BT. I intend to use the connection for some internet gaming, so I need the absolute lowest possible pings (without moving house, thankyou), no packet loss and a dynamic ip. I'd like an isp that does no traffic management, monitoring, shaping, prioritization or throttling and an allowance of around 30-40 GB should be plenty, but definately no less than 20.

If you could recommend some appropriate ISPs I'd really appreciate it.

Anyone? I realise I've put this in the wrong forum, I was looking at the wrong window. Would it be better for me to try again in the "which isp" forum?

I'd like to be fed thrice daily by naked super models, and be paid millions for it, while being worshipped by the people of the world.

Maybe I'm expecting a little much. smile

The no traffic management bit sounds like IDNet to me. Have a peek in their forums and get a feel for any issues regarding pings, packet loss, dynamic IP posts etc.

the best ISP for you is IDNet - either their Home Lite or Home Max package.

Zen Active is comparable for cost and quality.

Cheaper than those you will need to accept traffic shaping and possibly less solid gaming latency. In particular Plusnet Extra or Plusnet Pro, with this traffic management.

See these comparisons.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, it does seem to be between IDNet and Zen, although if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. Has anyone heard of Fast.co.uk? They don't appear on the search function and they don't even have their own forum section. They claim to be the "UK's highest rated ISP for Support & Customer Service", which is nice (although they don't mention how they are rated). More importantly, they say a number of times on their website "no speed drops, even during the evening and at weekends" which sounds fantastic, but surely it's too good to be true? Are they really guaranteeing (assuming the exchange is fine) that your throughput will never drop below your IP profile?

Some reviews here, mostly very good but who knows how accurate they really are.
