Uprotected WIFI

When I was getting my dads laptop ready for use I noticed a unprotected wifi network in the area from a BT homohub, I hate BT and all my neighbors so what the best way of shopping them?

Eh?

Its not illegal to have an open wi-fi network, and if you were to do something like use it, then you would be breaking the law, even if it is open.

Rather than shopping them, why not be the friendly neighbour and point out this possible problem to them, unless in flats they must be pretty close if you can pick up the signal indoors.

Report them to Google Street View! They could have missed them.

Anyway BT HomeHubs are intended to broadcast unrestricted BT Openzone hotspots.

The BT homehubs are annoying as they come out of the box with three WiFi network names (SSID's) transmitting:

BTHomeHub_xxxx which is protected <---- this is the only one that works
BTFON
BTOpenZone

The other two don't work until the owner of the Hub goes into the admin pages and enabled them. However, and stupidly in my opinion, they are transmitting. If you try and connect to them you get a page saying "this hub hasn't been activated".

Really really annoying, as I have an OpenZone subscription, so my laptop keeps connecting to these "useless" home hub IDs when I'd like it to just autoconnect at airports etc.
