Computer aid near the top of that list sounds like it MAY be a worthwhile organisation to donate old bits.
For information (this is not meant as an advert for Oxfam) the following Oxfam shops sell Electricals, some other shops may accept them for passing on.
Sheffield, Fulwood Rd
Leeds, Headingley
Keswick
Ealing Music
Streatham High Rd
Some charity based furniture recyclers also take electricals .
There is also Freecycle , Freegle etc.
If the items are light and you are willing to pay postage PM me for the appropriate !! Oxfam shop.

So I guess it depends on the resources local shops have for testing such appliances. It might also be worth contacting Social Services as in the past I've found them helpful in pointing me towards a local organisation that can take and make good use of unwanted, but basically sound, stuff.
I also know of two church based organisations within 3-4 miles that we've passed stuff to, there may be more.
