Plusnet Router

[link to this post]

Hi!
I'm getting broadband with plusnet and I'm NOT getting the router from them (the reviews that I saw online about that router are not great), but now I don't know which router to buy.

I'm looking for a wireless router with good coverage and under £50!!!

Thanks

Have a look at the reviews/forum posts with regard to the Billion Bipac 7700N which has just become available in the UK.

I never had a problem with the Plunet supplied router.

Hi, I second the Billion BiPAC 7700N router recommendation, I would like one myself.

I took delivery of the Plusnet supplied 585 v8 modem router a few months ago and I can only state that it's performance has been outstanding on my moderately long line (att 42dB).
I installed the Plusnet supplied firmware when I got it and can honestly say that it's been the best of a long list of routers I've bought. It maintains a connection for weeks at a time and the wireless connection has never dropped once. I get a constant download speed of 6.75 Mb/s on a ADSL2+ line. I'm just hoping that it never goes feet upwards as I'm sure I'd be hard pressed to replace it.

I set up a PlusNet router for a contact recently. She's getting great speeds with no drops. It you want to invest in a spare router ("just in case") without spending a bomb, try one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TD-W8961ND-300Mbps-W...

The only disappointment is that there is not much scope for configuration .

What did you go for? I'd love the Billion BiPAC 7700N when my bank statements make happier reading and/ or when there is a date in view for my exchange to be FTTC enabled.
