Here is the link-
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WNNN
May I ask the need for the exchange details? Thanks .
The reason for asking about the exchange was to see if it is WBC enabled, which it isn't.
I wanted to know that as the 3dB rise that was mentioned is usually associated with a move from G.DMT, that you are on (up to 8Mbps), to G.992.5 (ADSL2+, provided by WBC for BT-wholesale based connections).
Changing router (chipset) can result in a change of the reported attenuation, but 3dB is lot. What was the bit in your earlier post about diagnostics reporting 39dB, rather than the main 42dB?
My feeling about your line stats is that your home phone wiring may be a bit below par. Getting the noise margin reset may help for a short time, but the 8dB is a symptom of a problem, not the cause.
What stats do you get if you connect to the test socket, on the wall at the back in this pic with the modem ADSL cable (no plug-in extension cable)? Preferably check this during daylight hours, as it can make quite a big difference. Especially in your case. (Because of the actual stats you have).

Ok, i thought you were going on to ask for bank account details (joke) .
I do not have any extensions connected when i moved in, the line needed to return to BT so I asked the guy who came out to disconnect the extension, so I just use the only socket in the house, I was also given a faceplate by openreach guy when i moved in it splits your broadband line and telephone line.
I use the 2700, i have this reading Attenuation: 42.0 dB if i use the Home - broadband on the stats page
and this Downstream Atten. at 300kHz: 39.3 dB if i go home-settings-diagnostics-dsl. But if I use the HH2 I get a reading of 45.
I will take of the faceplate in the morning and connect to that socket in your link

OK .
Seeing as you aren't likely to give me you bank details, I shall probably soon give you a phone number to talk to me - it's much better than a forum. It will start 090... .
Back to the subject. From what you say, I think it would still be a good idea to try that test socket. You are getting quite a poor connection speed for the attenuation, and filtered faceplates can fail. 42dB attenuation gives most people over 7Mbps connection speed, as you used to have.
What do you have plugged into it apart from the router? Just a phone? And is the phone close to it or is that on an extension cable.
If you do try the test socket, or whenever you next do a reconnection, please take the stats immediately afterwards, particularly the connection speeds and noise margins .

Ok, its just connected to adsl v10, no extension wire. Although the phone is BT trial i signed upto, I think i can mention this now as the trial has finished for some time. I will connect to the tset socket in the morning.
I appreciate your time, you could instead have been watching xfactor or Big brother.

Just the broadband connected, it looks worse, I was only joking about Tv programs (joke)
Rate: 6080 kbs 448 kbs
Max Rate: 6080 kbs 1036 kbs
Noise Margin: 9.0 dB 24.0 dB
Attenuation: 42.0 dB 26.5 dB
Output Power: 19.8 dBm 12.2 dBm

Re the TV programs, nothing wrong with a bit of banter . Though in truth, if I were stuck on the proverbial desert island, no entertainment but a TV that only received those two programs, I would teach myself basketry.
Very unusual for the test socket to give lower connection speed than the normal one, but "there it is".
The sync-time noise margin is 9dB, so if that gets reset to 6dB, (as per your earlier post), which is the default you will get up to 750kbps more, but even that isn't as good as what you used to have. Puzzling .
The question is therefore what caused the rise to 9dB. It could be something that is still around. Like a new DECT telephone or microwave, or anything electrical/electronic between the high speed times and now.
Did you have any spell of instability, or do a large number of reconnections in a short time at any time?

Well yes, several weeks ago I had no connection for well over 24hrs, all i could do was phone Bt support (not a joke), however it did come back in the end, it was off most of the weekend. Although, I have as yet, not got back to what was.
Disconnections not that I'm aware, I always try and leave a large period of time between resets.
At a loss now the only appliance left on is the 2wire, all the rest is turned off by the mains when not in use. That only leaves the phone, and that means the attic!
