A couple of days ago I set up a new Technicolour tg582n router to replace my old Thomson. All went OK apart from when I look in the events log I find this message repeated every 5 to 6 minutes.
"SNTP Unable to contact server."
The settings I found were
Time Source: Automatic
Date: 01-01-2000
Time: 00:46:57
Timezone: (UTC)
Summer Time: Yes
Time Since Power-on: 0 days, 0:46:57
Time Server 1: ntp.plus.net
I have since manually entered the correct date and time. However the message "SNTP Unable to contact server." still appears every 5 to 6 minutes and swamps the Events Log.
Can anyone tell me how to stop this happening please?
I got this message when I asked my ISP :
"When I have checked the connection logs on your account today, there are no issues to report. This indicates the router is having some sort of issue. As everything is operating correctly, I am unsure what to advise you in this case."
Thanks
