Broadband Map

If I look at the Speed Test results on the Broadband map for PE8 6TT I see my own ADSL Max connection with Newnet showing as 3.3Mbps Down and 0.36Mbps Up. I'm happy with this considering it's a village location possibly 2 miles from the exchange although the BT Cabinet is directly outside my property and a newish cable into the property where my router is direct to the Master socket.
However also on the Broadband map near to me is a BT speed entry showing 12.22Mbps Down and 1.6Mbps Up. How is this possible as BT is the only provider in the exchange and there is only ADSL Max available?

Yes, it doesn't make sense!

That 12 Meg entry is located in Warmington village which is served from the same Elton exchange as you and has no better BB: Broadband In Warmington

Hi. It may be that someone registered with that postcode has taken their laptop to a higher-speed area and run a speedtest there. It would be logged to their home area, if they do not specify the actual test postcode.

LOL Humans are funny things sometimes .............

It would also make more sense if the Test Results used were limited to say the past 3 months, given the changes occurring to the network as a whole.

The tests do have an expiry period

It used to be 120 days, I'm not aware of it having changed.
