Re: EE BrightBox...System log issue

[re: XRaySpeX] [link to this post]

Makes no difference in test socket I have tried it

No phone extensions.

I remember from when BT engineer came I have 2 wires connected in the junction box on the window sill and 2 wires going from that to my master switch, which is what my box is plugged into, all pre 1975.

I am in a small village; I hope you do not mind but do not wish to give away my location...It takes less than a minute to walk to the exchange.

What does the Attenuation problem point to?

I used to get 7.5 Meg. Problem with B.T. is that they say 0.6 Meg is acceptable

Post your router stats so we can advise on speed/discon issues.
How come my Bright Box router has the correct date and time?

Wed Apr 17 21:33:00 2013 admin login success from 192.168.xx.xx

It maybe due to how I configure my router, I give the router as much information as possible by including the ISP DNS (Domain Name System) server address. Could it be the server informs my router of the correct date and time?

EE/Orange/T-Mobile home broadband DNS address.

Primary DNS: 193.36.79.101
Secondary DNS: 193.36.79.100

But has your router re-synced since you last hard rebooted?

There's no connection between resolving domains from a DNS and obtaining time from a time server.

I also have Orange DNSs set.

What time server is yours using? Mine is "ntp.readytoconnect.co.uk-United Kingdom".

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC

My router is using the same time server, mine is "ntp.readytoconnect.co.uk-United Kingdom".

My router is switched off overnight every night, so it gets a hard boot every morning.

Well, there you are then! Nowt to do with your DNS red herring. You get time served every AM.

If only you had read my OP on the subject ...
