Silly question, but aren't the filters supposed to prevent the ring signal from interfering with the ADSL signal? Or does this interference occur between the exchange and the PCP / PCP and the house?
No, the filter does not stop it.
The DSL signal is passed straight through from the incoming A & B legs of the line. The filter is there to stop DSL signals appearing on the audio side.
There is another filter on the modem which stops the audio band from reaching the modem front end.
