Interested in reading your various comments.
Having a NON BT LANDLINE, in the event of a line fault who does one contact.
I presume one contacts the provider, who in turn contacts BT and so it goes on.
A guess on my part. I stand corrected and would very much like to be informed that there would be NO DIFFERENCE in time scale for action regarding the fault.
If that reassurance is given, then I would consider changing from BT.
Still fancy Jeremy though!!!!!!!!!!

The same, so you contact your provider who in turn raises it with Openreach, the same as if your with BT Retail, you contact BT retail who in turn raise it with Openreach there is no preferential treatment so faults take exactly the same amount of time no matter who you are with.
A residential fault is only dealt with in office hours regardless on who you are with unless you have a different care level.

Sorry Andrew. While some of your comments are well meant I cannot look on BT other than a money grabbing conglomerate whose mission in the business world it to take take take. Yes no doubt they are forced to make some consideration to the less well of but it's not by choice. BT hold no illusions for me I'm afraid.

Caley.

No different to any other large company really, some large firms manage to retain an image of caring, but that generally only lasts while the profit levels keep the board and shareholders happy.

In reply to a post by MrSaffron:
If someone has their data on pricing going back a few years can add them, and produce a prettier graph with more lines and colours.

We launched our landline services on June 1st 2012. Our monthly charges have remained the same (£13.00 inc VAT for consumer version) and (£12.00 ex VAT for business version).

I don't know about those two - I expect you could find it on their websites tongue, but Pulse8 is:

- Line £13;
- Basic 1571 free;
- Caller display £1;
- ex directory free.

I don't know about override providers, but why would you want them?
