Cool, so that to me sounds like a probation period. If you pass you're on the wage we applied for, if you don't... well you're out I suppose!

I wish you guys who get the role all the best. Don't worry if you don't get the job straight away. Takes people years to learn how the whole puzzle works. But the best thing is there is a whole wealth of people around you who will have the answers and there only ever a phone call away.

Out of interest what is this qualification that you're going to be learning?

Not sure but have mailed Laura to find out more. Does see a big hit to take for a qualification

What was the salary in the original advert please? I don't think it has ever been posted.

It would have been the £22,993 as that's what new recruits are on, an NE2 or TM2 grade. And then it jumps up to about £25k when the recruits are skilled to do underground faulting a bit later in their career. All with a 10% on target bonus.

Know the feeling, have a job I hate but wondering if the pay drop is really worth it.

So a drop of nearly three grand for the first year.

That's a lot, as one of the posters suffering it said frown.

The pay drop annoyed me too, but the career opportunities far outweigh it, I'm seeing it as short term pain for long term gain lol.

I had the email too, I'm from Ayrshire, Scotland so it's not just the Welsh recruits, maybe more to do with dates of the actual assessments? Im sure they will be working towards informing everyone!

The -£3k that was advertised is a bit of a downer to be honest, I'm taking a bit of a pay cut as it is but I'm doing it to spend more time with my family as I work away mostly so being at home is more important so hopefully it's short term pain for long term gain smile
