None of the NE2 engineers ever move onto the B2 salary. That's the whole point of work force 2020. But when you add on the 10% bonus to their £25k for doing UG on NE2 it all works out the same. I joined as an apprentice luckily so on a B2

Very wrong, a few team members from a team I've managed had the UG upskill and have transfered over to the B2. Also newer apprentices are also on completion of their NVQ and 36 month apprenticeship go over to the Workforce 2020 contract. The last engineers to assimilate onto the B2 contract assimilated in Sept 2015 or March last year I can't quite remember the exact tranche.

Im taking an 8k paycut. But i work a 52 hour week average. (50/55) with every other Saturday morning and hate it getting home at 6:30 every night.. The hourly rate works at 5p less. I think the paycut and 12month probation is to filter out those who dont give 100% in the first year. Ive taken the chance and accepted as to me happiness in a job is just as if not more, important for the long run to me. Its not bad money to start. Works out at 10.25 an hour if its a 37.5 hour week, then at 22933 it goes up to £11.70. I cant wait to start! Good luck all!

im not sure about paycut in return for a qualification, i already have BEng degree in telecomms and soon to have a Mphil also. not sure what i would gain with the qualification. the work experience however wolud be far more important i think.

My portal still says pending feedback. I'm taking a paycut aswell but I think if we all get our heads down and get stuck into your work. Do some overtime and make the most of our training year we will all benifit in the long run. I like a lot on here have waited a long time for this opportunity so to knock it away because of Money Is a shame. I've spoke to a friend who works for openreach and he tells me it's the best move he made. Chin up for those waiting hope it comes soon.

I haven't had that email yet so fingers crossed but I too would be taking a pay drop to take the job should they offer me but I see it as short term pain for long term gain it's such a relevant job these days with the reliance on the Internet and it's just something I want to do need the change

Just remember no costs for fuel as you park your van at home. An attractive pension. Free broadband worth at least £100 a year. And also discounts on stuff like cars and also apple stuff. Cinema discounts probably most useful. And if you get asked to work in another part of the country for a couple of weeks I think you get paid an extra £500 a week but don't quote me. Lots of perks

Were do you get that from ? Am sure that is not right.
