The guy delivering our assessment day said this aswell. Apparently a load went up to Scotland before and camped for like 40 quid a week and pocketed the rest lol... don't know if that's true or not haha

That's why the big recruitment is going on to help with spikes in work load so engineers are less likely going to be required to go on lodge or for them to call contractual overtime. Also rules have changed you need to provide receipts for accommodation but if a load of engineers are willing to stay in the same accommodation then money can be made but I wouldn't say anywhere near £500 a week! They are probably on about engineers who work away on lodge working Sat/Sun overtime and overtime in the evenings during the lodge. Can't see there being much lodge when recruitment is complete...

The patches that tend to be the most desperate are South West of England, East Anglia and as always the Highlands and Islands. They'll always be a need for lodge engineers.

In reply to a post by gouledw:
It's to cover the cost of temporary accommodation and also food.

Now days the you get the cost of the accommcdation and few £ on top i think about £10. Any money you make on top is due to working lots of OT . Not a thing i go for but have mates who do it and they tell me 100% the only real money they make is due to doing lots of OT ie 5+ hrs a day.

As for getting £500 a week just for working away dream on.

these comments are my own and in no way represent any company that i may or may not be linked too.
