Ofcom shortcomings

Excellent article in the Sunday Times highlights shortcomings of the regulator as much as Virgin's contempt for its customers: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/virgin-media-warn...

In short. Virgin poor customer service and overbilling.

Customers go to Alternative Dispute Resolution who find in favour of customers and award refunds and compensation. Virgin ignore rulings and continue to chase customers.

Not much new, similar articles have been in other news sites in the last few months. The ADR organisations seem to have less teeth than the regulator, and that is irritating.

Some subscriber has shared it with the "share token" in the URL. Which will expire, and I suspect if a lot of different people read it, it will expire faster.

I am a Times subscriber but cleared all history, did not log in, and the link instantly opened from TBB. Agree that shortcomings are well known ... but all we need is to interest a newspaper to take up our case and presto! Virgin settles within 24 hours.

Agree the regulators coms and financial are useless, they could take lessons from the US authorities who are not to be messed with. Meantime Virgin laid cable around here year before last, a few took up their service but at least two now tell me they wish they hadn't. Quitting Virgin is almost as difficult as quitting Sky, better not go there in the first place.

Ah yes, just tried again on a laptop. Didn't work from a phone previously.
