I've been looking to get an OpenReach line installed into my house, but I don't know if it's possible to do it without a broadband provider in mind. I'm guessing that most broadband providers use these OR lines (except for Virgin Media) and so if one were present, it would be cheaper to sign up to a provider later on?
I've been with Virgin Media since around 2006, and on a contract that's lasted for years, and at the moment they're charging me a small fortune (£46.50) per month for broadband only! I don't really want to haggle with them over the phone about a reduced price nor threaten to leave, so what can I do?
