connection down again!

Its happened again this evening and once again I am using a modem to get online. Exactly the same symptoms as before. Fine this morning with a good, fast connection but I am unable to connect to IDNet in the evening. I'm finding it harder to believe this is a BT issue!

Anyone else having the same problem tonight?

No problems here, but it's a weird-sounding one... though to be fair, I don't think you can say yet whether BT or IDNet are most likely to be at fault.

Do you switch the router off after a morning session, or leave it running and hence connected?

Does inputting your tel. no. in the outages box below show anything interesting?

I always switch off the rounter when I finish with the computer. I have just tried to log into my email account at IDNet (using the modem) and even that is not working!

Be interesting to see what tomorrow brings!

How do I do that?

Mine was fine last night, so my probs were obviously connected with the BT outage in the previous thread.

Try leaving it running. It sounds as though BT may be having problems with the number of users at your exchange, if you leave the router running then you should keep the connection.

There are currently no known capacity problems on your exchange. There may still be an exchange problem, however BT are not currently reporting that they are aware of it. Please contact Support if you are having speed problems, who can advise further.

Ah well, that blows that theory out of the water

I was expecting a red VP status at least.... time for a call to CS, there's clearly something odd somewhere that a few posts on a forum are unlikely to clear.

I'll ring them tomorrow.
