You'd have to try it with documents that cause OOo problems on your system. It's based on OOo 3.0.1, and it's a .0 version, so if you are looking for high reliability I recommend waiting for 3.0.1 or 3.1 minimum.

I've never felt the need to use OOo since NeoOffice arrived, so I can't comment on OOo's stability. As I say, I have avoided NeoOffice as much as possible as well. I find iWork does all I need in that space, except when I occasionally want to open a complex MS Office doc. I haven't noticed any instability when I have needed to use it.

I'm still not risking it - I'll continue to wait and see how you brave folk get on with it - my files from the PC are very precious - I can't afford to have them messed up .

At present all files with a suffix of .xlr open beeeeeeeeeeeautifully with NeoOffice [ 2.2.5 ] and can be changed / updated without hassle

Using it for a week or so. No problems and certainly no harm done to any files.

If Shakespeare......had a blog it would be like this.

So far it hasn't crashed or anything - which is good. And there are no weird keyboard problems/menu problems as in OOO - so far, at least.

An observation

After installing Neo Office 3 - I also have MS Office 2004 and Open Office on the machine as well - OK I am an application junky!

I found that some of the Verdana fonts were reported as being corrupted when I started up PowerPoint.

On checking via the FontBook application it also confirmed them as being faulty.

The fonts were not reported as being faulty a few days earlier we I last ran PowerPoint and before I installed Neo Office 3.

Might be worth checking then - I'll have a look at them later on.

How does neoffice compare with openoffice for speed and reliability? I have only used OO so far and find it can be very slow to start up and open any docs but this is on a G4 with 1GB ram that is 3 years + old.
