Mac Steam Games

[link to this post]

I was thinking of this for an idea - Playing steam games against people from the other Forums within tbb.

What does everyone else think?

Mac steam games are healthily increasing. You MUST try some. You'll love it!

I downloaded the Steam Mac version and out of 40+ games, 1 was available for the Mac (Portal). As my PC is my main gaming platform, I doubt I'll buy games based on whether they are available for the Mac or not.

Especially when as soon as I have time, this iMac will have 7 installed on it instead. I gave it a few months, unfortunately OSX just doesn't cut it for they way I use computers. I really tried to like/get used to it, but it's just so, I dunno, 'bleh' is about as descriptive as I can get at the moment laugh

Steam is still in public beta and they have stated that all of their main titles will be ported AND if you already have it on PC you will be able to use it on Mac sans fee.

I have quite a few games, and Portal is one of them that I bought already.

Some games that are Mac & PC are;

Dirt
Fuel
Torchlight (my fave game at the moment, and good on the MBP)
And Yet It Moves - Addictive, and NOT easy.
Bejeweled - Love that game.
The Dig
Galcon Fusion
Killing Floor
2 Indiana Jones games - both suck.
Loom
Machinarium - Hmm, frustrating lol.
Madballs in Babo: Invasion
Osmos - Love this game. Good tune too.
Peggle
Peggle Deluxe - Love Peggle!
Couple of Sam & Max games [new ones?]
World Of Goo

There ARE others, included above are some drastic games and others are just 'ok' - You should try a demo first.

There ARE some good games! It's still early days?

Some of the games are pants. There is one that you are up in the Space Shuttle (with blocky graphics) and you really get a feel of a Vic20 and (at the time) groundbreaking visuals.

Oh wait - I meant to say, breaking the ground with your Vic20...

Things have advanced since. Honest!

Thankfully I use the PC for serious gaming. wink

I got bored with it already, lol. I guess I just don't have the gamer passion. You're right about some of the graphics I was expecting much better.

A bit disappointing really but I can see some decent games on the card - it's a new market for Apple and Steam developers ~ There is money out there, and we would like and NEED fresh drivers to enjoy the games.

I'll save for an i5 or i7 MacBook Pro. wink
