Vodafone complaints

[link to this post]

Any points welcome on how to proceed with complaints about Vodafone.

Their customer service seems anything but and Ofcom won't take a complaint unless all routes have been followed.

Sadly Vodafone website only gives details on how to complain about data protection and nothing else.

Thanks very much

Have you tried posting about your problems on Vodafone's forums?
VF support staff frequent them several times a day and they've got a reputation for getting things sorted out.
Good luck!

Best thing to do with Vodafone is to avoid them like the plague. Their CS staff lie, and they are deliberately evasive if you want to cancel or migrate. They've lost my business.

Did you attempt to sort out your problem with VF via their online forums?
If so, I'd be interested to read the thread.

No, I didn't. T-Mobile made me a much better offer, and I was quite eager and very relieved to get shot of Vodafone.

You can contact Otelo, the Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman. which is the independant company they are registered with. Alot like Cisas. They are your first port of call if there is a complaint that cannot be resolved fully or has come to deadlock with Vodafone.

What went wrong ? I tried asking for a PAC via the website, but nothing happened. So I phoned and asked them for a PAC, and was told that I had to do it by email.

I sent an email, and a week passed, and nothing. So I phoned again, and was told this time that I needed to fill in the form on the website. Still nothing.

So, in the end I cancelled the account entirely. Vodafone staff are rude and disinterested. I'm glad to be shot of them. Now all I have to do is to stop them sending me emails telling me that I can look at my non-existant bills online ! crazy

i called vodafone 2 weeks ago for a pac, got through straight away, spoke to a customer service girl who was very polite. she tried to convince me to stay of course - and in the end i said i'd think about it a bit more - but she gave me the pac code over the phone then and there no problems at all. i only wanted it to move to o2 to get the £5 broadband discount.

Lucky you. My experience of Vodafone was so bad, I'd never go back. The other thing that Vodafone "forgot" to do was to contact me when the contract ended, to offer an upgrade, something T-Mobile haven't failed to do on my other business phone.

it might be because you were on contract, i can understand them being motivated to retain a contract customer... the number i ported was just a payg so they probably didnt care.

Just when I thought I'd seen the last of Vodafone, and heard the last of the "all are operators are currently busy, please hold" messages, the daft doofusses issued me with a credit note on a closed account ! Another twenty minutes at the 0871 rate to sort it out ! Jeez, anyone who deals with this company should seek counselling ! mad

yeah, at least you got something back though I guess.

I had to call them back again yesterday, as I didnt realise when I ported the number to o2 that the phone was network locked to voda. but the lady said it was no problems, i gave her the imei and she raised a request to samsung to generate an unlock code, which she said normally can take up to 72 hours. and it didnt cost me anything which is nice.

I agree with this 100% and would add the website is hopeless. A great example of how not to have a customer facing website!

...however, the service is very good. I have a 3G mobile and two dongles. All work very well and good coverage. Just hope they never go wrong!

Vodafone Broadband service is worst in Delhi, India. For 3.6 Mbps line, I am getting only 5-7 kbps download speed when my device show signal strength excellent.

I tried to post this to stir our non-service, but they Voda keeps removing it, so I'll try here for us Salsbarians:

Vodafone mobile broadband is the worst time wasting full of [censored] telco non-service I experienced in Oz, and that's already bad!

In Salisbury SA:
- signal strength is ok, but often goes slow - nowhere near the speeds they claim, had 'upgrades' - still goes slow, drops out, changes to wet string GPRS, fuks you around for hours trying to work on the Net while downloads & links time out..

Everywhere:
- Customer No-Service when calling, left online waiting for 40minutes listening to [censored] & [censored] messages only to have line drop out. Happened on several occasions last week & one couldn't even recharge on line... useless, better off going to our screaming kid library without the voda headfucks.

- [censored] 'direct' number offered by Voda broadband mob - still long waits, and without a silence option one is forced listening to [censored] 'music' & most annoying [censored] messages about being 'flat out', hang on, with you shortly, nearly there, ect, & promo's... even using the callback option, a computer calls back, and puts you on hold again, also to drop out after 20minutes!
WHATA LOADA [censored]. Not going back to Voda when modem expires. Any tips?

Recently had to contact vodophone on a couple of seperate matters. The first was a billing issue which like your case was dealt in a very bad way. I am paying extra for itemised billing by post which i havent been recieving. Finally got this soughted by sending a written letter by post to Guy Laurence. The second was stopping their marketing people constantly calling. This was dealt with contacting customer services through the normal channels and dealt with very proffesionally. Its a shame these big organisations can let things go so far as get their customers so annoyed over such simple matters
