Looks like they are working their way around them one by one.

Halesfield mast went live last week.

Any news on the Madeley mast?

Sutton Hill not active yet (more likely in 2025) yep Randlay, Halesfield go live. (not sure if Princess Royal Hospital has gone live there as I don't have three phone with me to test it)

2025 will see two more lives for Sutton Hill and Ironbridge Car Park.

Mount Way, Woodside badly need Three monopole 5G as there is no 5G on the mast (4G Band 3 15MHz) except EE already 5G on it but not Three.

I just quick check on one network updated for those Three Mast by Telford Princess Royal Hosptal

Max, a mast may never achieve a PoW status......... for those who don't know; PoW = Pole of Wonder. Seriously just call them masts, untill they are good enough to be called PoW.

Also PoW is subjective, you may achieve god status with a mast, others may not.

"In my youth"! we used to go to Ironbridge a few times a year as my parents and my Sunday outing. In those days you could still drive across the Iron Bridge!

One side of it wasn't too bad for the car (8HP Ford Anglia 494A) to get up the hill. The other side which was the normal way in and out my Mum and I sometimes had to get out and push-help it.

Then they closed it to vehicles and the steep way was the only realistic one, as there was almost nowhere to park on the easier side.

Edit: I just had a look on wikipedia to find what year it was closed to traffic and it says:"In 1934 it was designated a scheduled monument and closed to vehicular traffic. Tolls for pedestrians were collected until 1950, when the bridge was transferred into public ownership".

It was definitely open for light traffic in the late 1950s, and no tolls. Definitely closed again at some time before I moved up to Manchester.

I highly doubt NR will get anywhere near Ironbridge wharfage from up on Jiggers Bank.

It certainly does not reach Ironbridge from the NR mast in Broseley.

My understanding is:
The lower Antennas cover the lower frequency 4G bands 700 MHz up to 2100 MHz (for Three) and 2600 MHz (for EE).
The top Antennas are for the 3600MHz 5G band.

An Antenna for lower frequencies like 700 MHz has to be physically larger that one for higher frequencies like 3600 MHz.

The usual rule 20+ years ago when I did CB radio, was you needed an antenna that was a quarter the length of the wavelength. CB was around 54 MHz and we had antenna on the car that was longer that old style FM/AM radio “aerial”.

What you see are “panels”; and the large ones are the size of doors in your house. These panels contain lots of different actual antenna in the structure. If you look at Peter Clarke’s pages (https://pedroc.co.uk/) you can see pictures of the connectors on the back of the panels.

Different panels have different connectors for the different antenna sections within the panel. Then you can find there are multiple, such as 2 x transmit, and 2 x receive within the construction, this improves coverage. So you end up with LOTS of separate connectors, each colour coded on the back of the panel.

Most mast sites are 3 sector, which means when you’re using your device on GPRS, LTE or NR, you are within one of the 3 directions from a panel. Hence a “cell site” can consist of 3 actual sites.

With the 5G/NR panels, the square boxes, these are known as “massive mimo” as they can handle many more than 2 Transmit & 2 Receive at the same time, maybe as much as 40T 40R, which helps dramatically increase the number of users whom get good speeds at the same time.

Lots on this at Ericsson

The speed was incorrect because it running background by DuckDuckGo App Tracking Protection (for Fiber Speed App should be disabled not enabled) the correct speed should reduced by 50%. There is no way any Three 5G monopole went over 2Gbps down and went over 300Mbps up. Correct speed should be 1233Mbps/171Mbps.

The correct speed was by speedtest.net https://www.speedtest.net/result/a/10297265707.png

Both speed was recorded at Halesfield 5G (green monopole) by petrol station. In Halesfield 16 here

Seem the Mast still OFFLINE. Waste of time if it just stood there for many months inactive. Sick with Three now.

Been told by three that 5G mast won't be switched on at both Aqueduct and Madeley until spring / summer 2025.

They are probably sick of you, too. Stop pestering them. It'll be switched on when it's ready and the work that finally makes it ready won't be on any streetworks sites. They have to configure and test the hardware and software they don't just throw it in, switch it on and hope for the best. You'd be very rightly upset if that happened and you were on a mast to nowhere with data and most important emergency calls not working properly.

Look like Three 5G has switched on now. but speed capped at 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up at the moment from Aqueduct.

CI: 13781065
eNb: 53832
CID: 73
TAC: 2053
PCI: 314
BW: 10+15+100 MHz
EARFCN: 99
RSSI: -101 dBm
RSRP: -99 dBm
RSRQ: -9dB
SNR: 4dB
CQI: 13
TA: 13 (1.0 km)
Band: B1, B3, n48 (4G LTE 2100 + 1800) (5G NSA 3600)

There seem speed issues at Aqueduct! Disappointed Thought they would be over 500Mbps down and over 40Mbps for normal range? But good upload thought!

Do you really have to keep posting identical posts on two different treads about the same mast?

Connections: Pixel 9 on Three 4+ (LTE)/5G, Pixel 6a on EE in reserve. At home Three Mobile, with (Three)ZTE MC888 router giving 5G on a good day.
