Win 7 x64 compatible mobile broadand

[link to this post]

Bought a 3 usb dongle a while back. Depite updating it with the latest software, it won't install under 64-bit Windows 7: Driver Software was not Successfully installed.

Same goes for 02. Installed latest software for it. Same message when I connect the device: Driver Software was not Successfully installed. Called up 02 and they told me they don't support 64-bit OS.

Both dongles are made by ZTE Corporation.

So are there any that will work with a 64-bit OS?

If you have a 3G phone; do a scan of the networks on that and see if o2 has 3G signal there. Could be a problem with the drivers on x64.

Their prices look at bit steep for ocassional use. I only really need it when my main connection is down.

I managed to install drivers for my 3 dongle. Can't connect with that either. Stangely it works fine on my Vista Laptop.

Have you considered getting one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002SXMH1C/ref=asc_df_B00...

It's £40, and has auto-fallover to 3G when your main connection goes down. You wouldn't ever have to worry about drivers again, assuming your dongle is compatible with that smile
