Which wireless adaptor to use with ST 585v6 ?

[link to this post]

Hi

I am currently using a D-Link G122 USB wireless (802.11g) stick to connect my desktop to the speedtouch 585v6. However my internet connection occasionally drops and i have to re-boot my pc to connect even though the router is only 3 metres away. When using my laptop (built in 802.11g) i don't get this problem, so i suspect the D-link stick is to blame, i have read some negative reviews on this. Now i read somewhere that its best to use the same brand of wireless adaptor as your router, so this gives me 2 options: either the Speedtouch 121G USB adaptor or Speedtouch internal PCI wireless adaptor. Which is best for 802.11g? Which offers faster network speeds?

Thanks!

Wireless performance should be about the same, but I'd choose a PCI card over a USB device any day.

Strange, there don

Hi e7er

thanks for the replies. Yes apparently speedtouch do sell a pci adaptor BUT it only has WEP protection, not WPA. So i think @28.99 i will give it a miss:

Instead i will go for the d-link dwl-g510 pci one, its quite cheap @
