the stats aren't pointing to a line problem, though the 2000 profile hints at one in the past (or a profile setting glitch).

If the router gives you a WAN or PPPoA uptime it'll show how long since it last fell over, but if the sync speed stays identical chances are it's held onto the line OK.

That hints that BT Openreach have done a VC Regrade at the exchange. Whenever these are performed the lines more often than not get stuck on a 2Mbps profile.

Step 1) Your ISP has to perform an SNR result (this won't cure it, but needed for BT to do step 2.

Step 2) Your ISP after a few hours then has to ask BT to manually reset the line profile so it starts following line sync again. If Step 1 is not done, BT won't perform step 2.

The above steps will require a couple of seperate calls and it does depend if the Post Office have staff with the knowledge to perform such tasks (i doubt if they do myself).

It's annoying that this VC regrade issue still persists, but after reporting it to BT myself for at least 3 years, its now easier to manually to deal with the 25-30 cases we get a month.
