Hello
I am not really sure where to post this as I dont really know what the problem is so apologise if it is in the wrong section.
Our internet went down last week and we have not been able to get it back. Our internet provider has been as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
We had a router which we had since we got broadband. The signal started to drop out so we brought a new router. We had problems installing it so had ring up a service provider and they said we should be using the one they provided and they sent one out, anyway the one we brought started to work. So we kept the other router as a spare, this happen earlier on this year.
Our internet went down last week we unplugged the router and it didnt work we changed over the router and it still didnt work. So call the service provided they tested the line and it is fine.
The router is sending out a signal to laptops and mobile devices but they are not picking up the internet.
The main pc has no wifi build in so has to be plugged into the router. We thought there was a problem with the pc blocking the signal. But after disconnecting the LAN from the pc and plugging into laptop it still would not work. We removed the LAN altogether and the laptop and mobile with full signal still does not connect to the internet.
We check the internet setting such as obtain DNS and IP automatically, they are checked.
Google loads and we can do a search such speed test but once click on the website it just sits there trying to load.
Another site we tried is Amazon and that loads but stop at about 80% words are shown but pictures do not load.
We have not changed anything it just suddenly stopped. Our service provider is AOL/Talk talk
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be. Sorry for the long message.
