Just bought a 2H router to use instead of my old Netgear. It has vanilla firmware and works perfectly but the LEDs are very very faint particularly the power LED. The only bright ones are USB and one of the ethernet ports which suggests that the fading is usage related.
It is ok in the dark but in normal light it is difficult to see whether one is lit or not.
I am wondering if this is normal behaviour after years of use as it makes hard to see at a glance if the ISP link is up or down at the times when things are running slowly or stuck.
I know that LED output is supposed to diminish with age and use but I have never noticed this before in practice. I wonder if this is perhaps an ASUS thing.
Anyone else have one of these or similar ASUS models with circular as opposed to square LEDs who can shed some light on this........
