Vivaciti?

[link to this post]

Is there anyone working at Vivaciti this week or are they all on holiday?

I was trying to migrate to them but wanted some more info first so I asked a question via their contact page on Monday about their broadband complete package which still hasn't been replied to.
Rather than delay further I decided to sign up to one of their broadband only packages on Thursday morning, only to fill in all of the required data and be met with a message saying that something had gone wrong and that my order would have to be manually processed and that I would be contacted shortly. Again, nothing from Vivaciti and its now Saturday.
Not exactly a good first impression is it?

Busy, I guess. They were really fast at replying to my questions last week but seemed much slower this week (only one message).

Due to supplier issues, my migration is delayed. 1 week in and still no date. frown Itching to get away from Coms Complete.

I enquired about their migration deal for Coms Complete customers this week but they hadn't had time to put together a full description of the package. It seemed a bit too back-of-an-envelope to feel comfortable with, so have put them on hold for now.

What info on the package did they supply to you?

Free migration, unlimited with no throttling, 1 month rolling contract, static IP and rental included for £26.40 a month. Not sure about phone costs; I don't use mine.

I agree with the envelope comment but I want to get rid of Coms and Vivaciti were the first on the scene.

yup, same as they told me. They also said 7 days lead time for MPF migration was a bit tight so gave me the 16th ( next wednesday) as provisional date. So hope all goes thru ok.
As to phone costs there is an pdf of phone costs on Vivaciti website available to download.
I too cannot wait to be shot of Coms, Shame that certain stupid , outdated ideas from Tiscali have arisen at Coms. RIP ADSL24.
Also agree with original poster, ( my-brain-hurts) absolutely spot on.

Strange.

See this post dated 19 March when partial pointed out the vivaciti strike-off imminence. Yet he resigned as a director of the new company on 17 March. The remaining director was appointed on 15 February.

There could be many legitimate reasons for this.

When I enquired about moving from Coms on Monday 7th, this is the reply I got back. It didnt install confidence in me at all.

"The package we have would give unlimited data for £26.40 per month.
The issue you have is the you are on a fully unbundled service, this means to move to any different package type would mean having to move the phone line back to a WLR line and this would have costs and down time involved, there would be a termination fee if you moved house although we know what this is for our existing MPF customers we do not yet know if a charge would apply and if it would how much it would be as this take over service is a little new and untested, so if we say a termination charge would be £20.00 + VAT that would cover us although a charge may not apply at all."

Woody

The data we purchase is robust enough to handle a few hundred rather heaver users with no real issues.

regards,
Woody (chuntering along in his own inimitable style, using 100 words when 10 would do)

Who are adsl for you and if a limited company which is what their online process seems to indicate it wouldn't be a t/as. You are one or the other, not both.

ADSL for You is merely another name under which Vivaciti sells. Quite normal. I'm still "me" T/A ABCD, and my customers when I was actually trading knew the business as ABCD.

I was selling hardware as well as the main business, and at one time that hardware included the Amstrad Word Processor kit that preceded them moving into IBM PC Compatibles.

There was no reason at all why ABCD could not also have had a trading name of "Word Processors for You" to sell that Amstrad kit, keeping the £3k+ stuff under the ABCD label.

You're failing to understand the point here

You sign up and the page mentions j and v data services ltd.
The terms mention vivaciti t/as Karl prust (who as other posters have pointed out, has resigned from said ltd company)

So who is the contract with? a ltd company cannot t/as a person (like j and v data services ltd t/as k prust)

I didn't fail to understand the information I had tongue. You have just given further information - what you see in the sign-up process smile. A place I've no reason to have visited.

I believe the T & Cs are the relevant data as they are of the legal format that is usually labelled "Legal". It wouldn't be surprising for detailed parts of the system to be later or missed. They also appear to me to be a very probable result of the resignation of K Prust from J & V directorship.

I'm not trying to excuse vivaciti, or say there aren't questions to be asked. I am saying that the T/A and the rest of what the two of us have just been debating are the least important of those questions. They are merely clerical.

I would say that your contract will be with Vivaciti as it's they who take the subscription each month and it's their Vat number VIES VAT number validation
J&V and the other name(which i don't think is a registered company name ) i have no clue about

And as for the strike off notice, a google search reveals that it may show as this purely because the company is late to submitt it's returns on time, so can mean nothing adverse, And looking at the history this years anual return is late (Feb/March) which seems to be the norm

No limited company is mentioned in the terms.

And they don't say vivaciti T/A Karl Prust. That would be a nonsense. They do say, in an archaic format, K Prust T/A Vivaciti.

Why not? If the cap fits...

There are faeces-stirrers here who will latch on to an ISP just because they did not use an apostrophe correctly a few years ago if their company accounts are late. They should get a life or try to get a job on the Private Eye.

How very complimentary of you. Just trying to establish some facts isn't trolling by any means.

Just looks like you've changed the company name and registration at an apt time. Will you be filing accounts for Vivaciti Ltd? I assume the public purse would like some of your profits, or is changing your company a way to avoid that? Looks like it.

I am curious though, did you let your customers know about the change from Vivaciti Ltd to J and V Data Services?
