O-Bit / SurfWise Discussion....

[link to this post]

Interested in knowing something about O-Bit...

...are their services Business based?

Reason I ask - I have just swapped over to O-Bit from Entanet (Via Mike at Titandsl) and have noticed a pattern with my speeds...

...during weekly business hours - the PING stretches out to a massive 150ms+ (Where on a weekend it's a good hovering 28ms) and the throughput speeds during Business speeds hover now at 1.2-1.6Mb (Weekends and evenings 4.4Mb+ my line's limit)

Is this the normal with O-Bit - a business based line to net look?

Anyone else with a similar pattern?

If we're experiencing the same in different area's... Surely it can't be line or exchange faults.. I mean my ping was great on Enta, just everything else about them seemed to deteriorate...

Since switching to O-Bit its been rubbish, so it's got to be them....

Speeds are rising and pings lowering right now as I type...

Pings @ 57ms and Speed up at 3.8 - 4.4Mb (alomst line limit)

Rather strange.

Yeah I come down to pings of 16 and speeds ofr 6.8mb (most the time) at evenings and weekends...

As mentioned in the other thread, O-Bit are apparently working on fixing this finally...
Fingers crossed!

Is it just Titan Surfwise, or is vivaciti affected as well?

Judging from threads like this O-bit have some odd loadings where worktime traffic is vastly oversold. Its like most ISPs in reverse.

Using O-Bit via Titan and haven't seen much of a problem with speeds, Usenet usually max's out my connection whatever time I use it.

Ping times are pretty bad on my line anyway, even with Enta 58ms was about the best I got.
