I don't doubt that Xilo is a good ISP and that Mat have good customer service. But as I said, if I do go for a Cable and wireless reseller, I already know who I will be going for.

The problem I have as normal is deciding what to do, stay as I am, no contract, try and get a cheaper price from Bt with another contract, go to another Bt based ISP or go for a LLU service.

Which is why I tended to stay away from them, it was just this BT broadband anywhere seemed a good service and to be fair it is not bad, but just not as good as what Bt made it out to be.

The mobile phone as a mobile phone is fine and the £5 a month I pay for calls is a good deal. but then I think if I go for a cheaper ISP and go back to PAYG mobile, would I save money?
I've been looking at different options, still have no idea what I am doing.

As for LLU, once you have a good LLU connection you'll be kicking yourself you didn't move sooner, I know I did.

Maybe you are right.

I am going to give BT a a call in the next few weeks and see what they can offer me, if they offer me a good deal i will stay where I am, if not then I will think about moving or just staying on a rolling contract.

If you have an opportunity to take up C&W LLU you would be stupid not to take it.

Nope

That is what I have to think about, changing ISp for me as I ahev said before is not so easy, I have to sort my mobile phone out first. I am also having a thingk about BTV, but Bt got to offer me a good discount on my broadband to make it worth while.

The only BT mobile tariffs I can find are business ones and they look very expensive.

BT broadband anywhere, i pay a extra fiver a month on top of my broadband for my mobile phone. for that I get 50 mins of calls a month and 50 text, ample for me.

Out of contract so it is just a rolling contract now. I was going to renew, but to renew to the same service with a new ph0one it will cost me nearly £200 for a touch 2. I could go for the £15 a month option and get a free touch 2, but there are far too many minutes on that option.

this is what I have to think about what to do, if I leave Bt I will also have to drop my phone, so I have to find another mobile phone provider who will take my mobile number and there is only two so I have been told.

TBH, Bt offers me a pretty decent service now, the only problem is that £25 a month for the broadband is a bit on the expensive side.

You should be able to move your mobile number to any network. You just need to get a PAC code from BT and give it to your new mobile network. It takes 2 working days for your number to be moved over at which point your BT account will automatically cancel and you will be with your new provider.

As you say though which phone you want will effect the cost of the contract, but you can get comparable deals on most networks.

You would have thought so, but only two mobile phone networks take BT numbers, O2 is one of them, not sure about the other, I think it is Vodafone since Bt uses their network anyway.

this Pac thing is just a agreement between two networks and any network can refuse to take numbers from another supplier, very strange.

i doubt any network would offer me a contract, my credit rating is naff, I was shocked when BT allowed me to have the phone.
But as I said, i would go back to PAYG, the problem with PAYG is that their charges are a lot higher for some calls.

yes, O2 is one of the networks that will take a BT mobile number, but I doubt they would allow me a contract, even a sim only, my credit record is shot, trying to fix it, but it will take a while.

I don't have BT vision yet, I don't even have a T.v licence, so i don't watch T.v, but I do use Iplayer now and again on the Wii, the rest of the services are a waste of time really as you need to use a computer and they are hit and miss if they work. But thanks anyway.

i know what you are saying and I appreciate it, don't think I don't. The problem with me if I think about changing networks, be it phone or broadband, it take ages for me to decide. It took months for me to change from Eclipse to ADSL24 from when I first thought about leaving Eclipse.


Broadband is not my priority at the moment.
