I've just seen that Community Fibre are offering a 10Gbps business FTTP for just less than Gigaclear's 900Mbps offering.

Yes CF is really a London-only provider and even then, particular pockets of London where they have laid their network. They have expanded somewhat now out of their social housing / high rise and MDU roots, but that still is their core market. The business 10G package feels like bragging rights. Be interesting to know how many actual subscribers they have on that package.

Gigaclear (list and web) business prices, be that low contention broadband or EAD equivalent, is sheer madness.

One of my customers has taken over a local pub that currently has a service from Gigaclear, on a residential contract.

As we will be taking over the service, I thought I would check what their business contract offered that the residential service didn't. Just looking at the top 900Mbps package for ease of comparison:

Residential
£49 per month for 18 months, then £79 per month
18 month contract
Free activation

Business
£477.60 ex VAT per month
24 month contract
£166.67 ex VAT installation

To be fair, I haven't spoken to them yet to confirm what extras they offer for 10 times the price per month, but as there is no info I can see on the website about different contention rates, downtime SLAs, etc. I do wonder what they are charging for.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of their business service?

One difference is that on gigaclear I can order FTTP 900/900 based on cityfibre, today if I wanted, but their residential is openreach based only so as such limited to FTTC speeds.

I believe that's Giganet, not Gigaclear.

Gigaclear build their own network, mainly in rural areas.
