HeyBroadband installation process?

[link to this post]

Any HeyBroadband customers on here? It looks like it'll be available to me soon, and wondering what the installation process is like.

Cheers,
AP

Great! How long after the white box was installed on your pole were you able to order the service?

I have a white box up my pole, but the "cable" is just rolled up at the top, and there's a white X on the ground by the pole with "BT" written next to it!

Also, will they terminate the fibre where you want it?

I'm in Wycombe, and it seems widely available in some areas, but not others (yet).

Cheers,
Andy

I'm in Gerrards Cross. The service was installed on my road in Sept 2020. Went live in March 2021. It was scheduled to go live December 2020 but OpenReach "accidentally" cut their main cable back to their central hub for GX so that had to be repaired delaying their go-live (installation guy spilled the beans). Their CS team have been responsive for me and when I asked them about go-live they gave me indicative dates so you could ask them.

They were accommodating on installation. I explained I was a bit precious about wiring and they took the time to route wires behind guttering and other features to hid the fibre. Same on the inside.

Seems to have gone up in price a bit since I joined. I'm on the symmetrical gigabit package for £40/month.

Looks like I may still have quite a wait then!

I pre-ordered, so should get the £40 deal for the 1Gb package.

I'm surprised you got an indicative date though. Everyone asking on FB is being told "in the next couple of months", including myself. I've asked several times, over several months, and keep getting that canned reponse!

I had a TP-Link Archer GPON Router given to me but that was a year ago now. According to their support page, they use this:

ADTRAN 814-v6 Home Gateway Unit. Wi-Fi 6 GPON HGU

Personally, I asked for their Router to be put in Bridge Mode so I can use my own kit....which is a Draytek 2865.

Really useful, thanks. I'd need bridge mode too. Is that doable by us, or does the engineer have to do it (or, I hope not, head office?)?

With my kit, they had to do it which they did remotely. Took a couple of days.
