Gigaclear poor workmanship

I'm sorry but I gotta say it, the third party contractor Gigaclear use is absolute [removed]

They screwed up the pre-installation by not securing the plastic piping at all from the pavement (so any kid could just yank on it and break it) so had to get a 2nd visit to fix that.

Well today was the final installation date. Hardware installed, connection is fine... BUT, when I went outside to look at the exterior wall, they sealed the hole up with this [censored] clear sticky silicon type sealant. Give it one British winter and that will be leaking water into the brickwork in no time.

Absolute joke! Gonna have to contact Gigaclear again to sort this out!

They currently use multiple contractors. Kelly Communication, Comex2000 and their own inhouse team, so which did you have?

Where have they installed the external termination box? You should have a plastic shield on the external cable entry point. Much like this...

External Box

The engineer from Comex installed everything in a small footprint underneath the plastic external box.

I have that external termination box, but its placed lower down the wall, not at the point it actually enters the property, so I've no idea what the point of that box is for there

Honestly, anybody can blow a brick out and sometimes it's happening regardless of how slowly you go.

I'd prefer them to use something like https://www.soudal.co.uk/pro/products/fillers-and-ch... rather than silicone, and have the cable go down rather than whatever direction that's meant to be.

What bugs me is that surely by the time someone has done a handful of these installs they'd be able to use a drill and cable clips and a level, but seemingly not.
