Is interleaving on?

[link to this post]

I have a DLinkG-604 and I have added new firmware to it. I have
looked everywhere and there is nothing that shows if interleaving /
fast is on or off.

I contacted plusnet to ask if interleaving is on or off as my pings
have increased from an avg of 17-22 up to 30-40+ (see below)

# ping jolt.co.uk
PING jolt.co.uk (82.133.85.65): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 82.133.85.65: icmp_seq=0 ttl=56 time=40.0 ms
64 bytes from 82.133.85.65: icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=40.0 ms
64 bytes from 82.133.85.65: icmp_seq=2 ttl=56 time=30.0 ms
64 bytes from 82.133.85.65: icmp_seq=3 ttl=56 time=30.0 ms

--- jolt.co.uk ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 20% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 30.0/35.0/40.0 ms

Plusnet said; "Interleving is currently turned off on your account.".
So, I run the following command from telnet "# cat
proc/avalanche/avsar_modem_stats" and produced the following output
(which I added to the ticket)

AR7 DSL Modem Statistics:

[Downstream (RX) Fast path]

Plusnet then responded " I have now placed a modify order on your line
to remove interleaving. Please let us know if there are any problems
with the service with it disabled."

This was about 2 weeks ago. My pings stayed at 30-40 and my telnet
stats still show traffic under the heading Interleaved, so I contacted
Plus again to double check and they said this:" Interleaving has been
turned off, please let us know the outcome of further testing. "

So, I am assuming that:

[Downstream (RX) Interleave path]
CRC: 35 FEC: 153024 NCD: 0

doesnt mean that my line has interleaving on??

From a post Dave made here:

In reply to:

We've raised this as a problem with BT, it seems that even though we place the order to turn interleaving on or off and the order shows as completed for some reason the DSLAM isn't updating the change.

Hopefully BT will be able to fix this shortly.
