Customer v Shareholder

[link to this post]

Plus Net in my opinion appears to be hell bent on trying to drive up shareholder value at the expense of customer satisfaction.

Every patronising utterance is aimed at soothing shareholders troubled brows whilst the customer is left on the hind tit.

This hail fellow well met, what splendid chaps we are fa

I think the posts below are trying to say that if you had looked at this forum before you jumped in, then you would have made a rational judgement not to do so.

Shareholders will always come before customers in any business.

The trick is to please both.

Ah yes, you can't beat the good old centrally planned communist economies. Shame they don't actually work.

Well Plusnet did go down the pan when they became a PLC. It's not surprising for the reasons that have been highlighted. Plusnet has an obligation to protect the interests of its shareholders.... I prefer doing business with a company that is more interested and able to protect the interests of its customers.

The two objectives don't have to be opposing or exclusive because a company offering good customer experiences can also make excellent profits. The shame is that PN only aimed at one aspect, at the cost of the other and I have no doubt it had something to do with corporate arrogance, greed and a belief that a few customers choosing to leave was not an issue but ultimately they didn't plan long term to keep both happy.

yeah the capitalist where the rich few get richer by feeding of the majority poor

I think something in the middle is the best, I got nothing against people making money but many corporations take it too far mainly large PLCs banks etc. Too many people forget that when you die your money doesnt go with you.
