What are your SNR (noise margin) figures? MaxDSL works on the SNR and not attenuation so if you had a fixed speed but very low SNR it is possible you would get a worse performance from MaxDSL.

Also make sure you have tried plugging the router into the master socket (and into the test socket behind the face plate on a modern NTE5) as this removes some of the possible causes of interference and low sync speed.

Downstream Rate: 576 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 288 Kbps

Downstream Margin: 31 db
Upstream Margin: 31 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 32
Upstream Line Attenuation: 19
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

i dont know what to make of that cant see mention of snr..

The Downstream margin is the figure I was looking for and it looks to me that there has been some sort of problem as your stats are good enough for anything over 5Mb or so (probably 8Mb). I would raise a ticket/question and ask PN to confirm the order was placed and/or BT processed the order correctly as MaxDSL and not a 1/2 fixed rate which is what it looks like has been done to me.

saying all this i've not had any responce from plusnet to say the regrade is complete or anything, i am only assuming that this is the start of it as its the 1st time my sync speed has ever changed from 2mg...

i guess its time to ticket plusnet i guess..

I agree. If you have been MAXd, your upstream rate should be 448.

I agree, looks like the wrong order has been placed to me or a BT mistake.

seems they've been continuing in their dumbass behaviour then.

Downstream Rate: 576 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 288 Kbps

fixed 512 product is easily mistaken for maxdsl i guess

thank you for that Ian, really appretiated, i have had a responce from plusnet today saying they have resubmitted my order to BT but they have skirted my question of "was it sent to bt incorrectly in the 1st place" i think it is fair to assume this is the case so i have asked them kindly for a refund on my

are you signed up to the BT website so you can view your bill and account stuff? if so.. you can see for yourself the exact orders that have been placed against your line and the clear dates.

migrating away, had enough of p2p throttling, them mucking up my regrade, not replying to open tickets, the list has grown too long and time to move on, been with plusnet for 2 years now but its time to move on methinks

I think PN is doing what it has set out to do.
It wants to get rid of P2P users.

I'm glad i left 2 months ago.
