New £5.99 Broadband Option

Hi,

I am currently on option 1 paying just under £10 a month for a 2GB Limit, i have noticed today that plus net have launched a £5.99 package which goes up to £11.99 after 3 months..... unless you live in a "low cost area" where the price will stay at £5.99 per month.

Which provider should i be looking for on samknows to see if a certain exchange will be covered by the £5.99 offer.

If you do an exchange check on samknows you will see a box to the bottom right that looks like this:

Ofcom Classification
What's this?
Market 2
Two or three 'principal' operators provide broadband services at this exchange.

Market 3 exchanges are the ones which have the permanent lower cost.

thanks for that, unfortunatley i am on a Market 1 exchange so i am stuck paying £11.99 if i switch.

Is there any difference other than the increase of 2GB to 10GB to switching to the new £11.99 package from option 1.

Yes, you'll be signing up to an 18 month contract.

It looks like you'll get a wireless 4-port router instead of the wired 1 port router previously offered on Option 1.
£11.99 for 10GB is still a very good deal.

Value beats Option 1 on VPN performance at peak times, other than that it's pretty similar.

Obviously you get the extra usage.

I assume you use an existing LLU operator to offer the £5.99 package. Is it Tiscali?

No LLU involved.

What do "market 3" exchanges offer Plusnet that other exchanges don't, then? I was under the impression that "market 3" purely relates to LLU presence at exchanges.
