I certainly had problems downloading e-mails when I got home, but they have since downloaded.

Hmmm. I had VPNed into work for a couple of hours, but when I finished, and reverted to my "normal" connection settings, things didn't seem quite normal. I've rebooted both the lappy and the router now. Things are still clunky, but I can't recreate the problem on demand. I just seem to be getting a lot more problems than average accessing different websites.

I've had occasional problems over recent evenings too. They don't happen when I'm on the VPN either. If people continue to encounter this problem then it would be interesting to know what gateway you're connected to when it happens.

I was on pcl-ag01 last night.

Thanks Bob. Whatever "it" was isn't doing it again so far today. If it happens again, I will check the gateway and let you know. Good to know (I think wink ) that it's not unique to my machine, and I don't have to wrack my brains about what has changed at this end.

Ah, good stuff, thank you.

It's not all the time, but it has, as you say, been a few evenings lately. I've never yet noticed it in the mornings!

shocked DNS-type problems just rematerialised within the last few minutes (everything's been fine all day). I'm on pte-ag1 tonight (and have been for quite a while - i.e. not just recently reconnected)
