Poll: How long will plusnet post on this forum?

Personaly i think the day is coming when plusnet decide not to participate in any discusion on this board and only post updates (which may stop also) due in no small part to the upsurge in people posting that have as much if not more knowledge as them about BB and the law and what they can and cant do.

The posts complaining about unsatsisfactory service are at an all time high from what i can see and these as i say are coming from people who know what they are talking about and plusnet are unable to bluff and bluster them.

So how long do you think that plusnet will open themselves up to the crtisism [spl] that is wholely deserved but as far as they see it unwarrented?

Oh and i know i am not with plusnet but i was for a long time and suffered with you and it took some begging to get out of my contract.

Wouldn't be the 1st time they've stopped posting here. When the going gets tough they run and hide frequently

Some people, including Plusnet staff and the moderating team on their forums, have implied from time-to-time that we should go gentler or risk losing their input.

However, I take the view that it's a commercial choice for them whether contributing to forums (and running their own forum) is to their advantage, and the debate will go on at ADSL Guide and elsewhere, whether they contribute or not.

Some customers are understandably angry with Plusnet, and I think it's important that they keep putting their point of view forcibly, regardless of whether Plusnet choose to respond or not.

Is it better to put across a forceful view to nobody official 'cos they've all left

or

To put across a balanced, thought out view in a controlled manner - and get due consideration from people who can tell that you have taken that approach?

Either way- its better than the ""usergroups" view .. which has been none existant.

I assume from the silence that the "usergroup" (the one that works on behalf of the users) is quite happy with what plusnet have or mainly have not done?

I know as a user - i'm certianly annoyed with quite a few of their actions lately TBH.

A number of posters have done so here lately. However selectivity appears to be the name of the game as far as the PN reps are concerned.

And before you say it`s probably been missed because of all the other threads. All the other threads appear to be complaints about how PN do business.

It's almost as if the posters are being held to ransom i.e don't post bad stuff about us/give us a hard time or we will up sticks and leave here back to the safety of the Plus.net forum which they can control much easier with the the help of the (alleged pro-Plus.net) mods. It could even be alleged that the mods over there and on the Plusnetters forum are sometimes too close to the Plus.net staff to be totally impartial.

If the products are good enough without being complicated and the service is good enough without people going round and round in circles then they have nothing to fear but it's probably that if Plus.net post any more than they need to then it could get them in to even bigger trouble.

I agree that it's a totally commercial decision for them to post here because it helps if people know that rather than have to deal with some faceless ISP you could try your luck on here in the hope that you can get an answer to any questions that you may have.

We have a democracy and freedom of speech, and this forum does give people the opportunity to put across their woes though as to whether or not this is the beginning of the end, who knows?

I'm afraid I see general ignorance of the law, on this forum. Many people who think they know the law, but that's not the same thing. I doubt Plusnet's corporate lawyers have anything to fear from these self-styled "experts".

Even if they did, it would be a pity to see the reps stop posting because of it, and I doubt that would happen.

What I think does threaten the continued participation of the reps (which, after all, is voluntary) is when they are subjected to unwarranted personal attacks. A legitimate grievance does not, in itself, justify personalised name-calling and accusations. Plusnet have a responsibility to protect the health and welfare of their employees, therefore if they are exposed to continual stress and unpleasantness, they have every right to pull them out of that situation - arguably even a duty to do so.

I am writing an article about what the usergroups stance is, and what we have been doing (and it isn't sitting on our backsides!) which should hopefully be on the site tomorrow afternoon.
