Usage Calculator

For the past few weeks, I've noticed that my broadband usage was more than I expected, so I did an experiment... Each evening, before 11pm, I disconnect the power supply from my router and analyse the usage each following day at work.

At lunchtime today for example, they say that I've downloaded 10MB.
At 4pm, they say that I've downloaded 30MB.

I've done this for a few days now, and if you average it out, I seem to be losing on average 2GB a month! Why would this be?

Thus far, I've raised a ticket and they mentioned a possible "leakage" between peak/offpeak during the last 30 mins prior to midnight. Yet last night I powered down at 10.30pm, and the usage is still going up and up... As yet, no reply. What's most annoying is that I've now hit level one management!! Any ideas people?

if you turn your router off for 3 days and there is traffic in the day 2 & day 3 then this would be a problem with the ISP's system
