Plusnet - Disconnecting me Twice :-(

[link to this post]

Plusnet cancelled my ADSL connection and it was actioned on the 9th.

Today I received an e-mail from them saying it will be cancelled on the 19th.

I should have connectivity (via Sky Broadband) within the next 10 days. Should I be concerned that Plusnet will disconnect my new connection???

I cannot e-mail Plusnet because they have removed my Plusnet user account! I cannot see how to create a new user account without signing up to one of their packages...

I am really appauled at Plusnet's technical support (or lack of - in terms of getting a reply from them). So I thought I would ask here before spending yet another 1 hour or more on the phone-queue to them (that has cost me a few

Were you on BT or LLU and did you request a MAC code or not?

I was on the LLU.

Plusnet are on a LLU Migration Trial and Sky Broadband are not, so Plusnet said that I was not able to migrate over using the MAC address.

Instead they cancelled my account and I subscribed to Sky Broadband (leaving me without ADSL for 2-3 weeks).

Thanks.

Since you are moving from LLU to Sky you need PN to terminate and cease the line as this is the only way for Sky to connect you. It usually takes 7 days of the line being cleared before Sky will be able to place the order so you have nothing to worry about as such. I would however suspect that the delay in ceasing your line by PN might have a detrimental effect on your Sky ADSL going live in time.

Plusnet told me that the line would be dead on the 9th and that Sky would be able to register it 2 days later.

But I called Sky on the 9th anyway and they did a line check and signed me up, saying that I would be live in 5-10 working days.

The (main) issue is that Plusnet have sent me an e-mail with a second cancelation date. Does that mean that I will be cut off again (possibly after going live with Sky Broadband)?

Thanks.

Try and get in touch with Sky to make sure the order is still going through. If it gets connected then you shouldn't have any problems but I do agree that it is strange that PN have sent you a second email but Sky are stating that the order is in progress. If the line had not been ceased and cleared in the first instance then Sky would not have been able to place the order therefore it leads me to believe that all is fine on your end.

Okay I will contact Sky Broadband to confirm that they are happy that it is being progressed okay on their side.

Thanks for your help :-)
