Quick question on MAC codes

If I want to leave Plusnet, and sign up with another ISP, what order do I do things in?

Do I request a MAC code from PN, then give it to my new chosen ISP, and let them do the rest?

Or do I have to time it so that I get migrated on the day before my bill is due?

And do I just raise a ticket requesting my MAC code?

Do they then take this request as me wanting to leave, and proceed to close my account, or can I sit on the code for a few weeks/months?

Best to request it in advance of talking to your new ISP I think.

A MAC is only valid for 30 days then it expires and you need a new one.

Also .. When you do move tell PN whne your moving to try and avoid billing issues.

If your email address is important to you make sure you keep telling them you want your account downgraded to free disl up so that you can still use the email.

Once you give your new isp your mac key they do the rest.
yes you need to time it.
normally takes 7 to 10 days for a new isp to take over once
you give them your mac.

you can just ask for your mac, but PN don't have to
take it as you are cancelling (you don't have to use the mac key)
If you are certain of moving, and don't want to keep any PN
feaures, when asking for mac key tell them to cancel your account too.
you will pay for 30 days, so to get best vaue give the mac key
to your new isp 14-20 days after you get it.
