It probably is just a coincidence. Just strange that a 2 year old card number is bein used.

Exactly. No one here is saying this is due to PlusNet, quite the opposite, I think everyone's said it is likely coincidence, but it would be daft not to ask the question.

The absolute blind faith and wild jumping to PlusNet's defence when not necessary by some, doesn't help customers or for that matter, PlusNet.

It could just be card number generator fraud..

Seem we keep getting more questions about what happened,
but lacking in answers.

Knowing PN reps uses this forum, would have though the would want to quickly
stating that there was no breach on Credit Card info (not that they don't think so).

Have they concluded their investigations yet? If not, that would explain why they are remaining silent on this issue. They wouldn't want to state categorically without a shadow of doubt other personal information has not been stolen until they are absolutely certain that is the case.

I have only just seen this thread. Concerning I'd agree but it's worth relaying that @mail has no requirement to capture card details in any of its database tables. Neither can access be granted to the rest of our network from the webmail platform in a fashion that would allow access to this information. Both the internal and external audits and forensic testing support this.

I'm aware from reading this thread that there are questions that some feel remain unanswered. We will be looking at answering as many of these as we can, and will be sure to revisit this thread when we're in a position to do so in full.

It's prob just one of those things, and has nothing to do with PN.

But just incase it's not, is there a reporting system that CS reps can flag up on this issue?
Hopefully it will just be this one case.
