If you migrate out then this is what usually happens. They change you to a dial-up account which as long as email is checked fairly frequently remains active.

re. response from Bob Pullen, Plusnet

Hi Bob

Thanks for your rapid response. Fact is I did request an upgrade to the 'up to 8MB' service many months ago. I did this through a process whereby you could request a priority upgrade, but nothing ever happened.

As you can probably tell from your own systems info, I have been with PlusNet for five years now, and therefore have ridden out many of the squalls and storms. As I say in my signature, whenever a problem affected 'a small number of customers' (according to service status) it always seemd to include me!

The latest issues with webmail, while not affecting me directly (as I use POP3 > withOutlook 2003 for email), has left me feeling that there are still deep seated issues involving the integrity of the Plusnet platform. I therefore feel that it is time to give another ISP a try.

Best regards

If the recent leaks didn't effect you then you rally are one of the few Even people who never used webmail have had their addresses leaked as PlusNet imported them into the webmail platform without our knowledge. But I digress..

As others have said, you can downgrade to a PAYG dialup account and continue to recieve email via POP3, something that I feel is a very positive approach by PusNet and should be praised for and encouraged to keep as an option. Sending it is a different matter though as PlusNet's SMTP servers only allow mail from PlusNet IP's.

That's a shame. If you do decide to stay with us and would like an order placing then give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with your new ISP though and the door will be open should you decide to return.
