Browsing going at a snails pace now?

[link to this post]

Hi All

Sync and measured speed has not changed but for the past few hours browsing and page loading has been crawling along at a very low speed.

Anyone else noticed this???

TIA smile

I have been OK for a few days now, since something finally snapped at Plusnet Towers, earlier in the week. For me at least, I think the new rubber band, or whatever it is they did, has fixed something that had been coming to a head for a while.

I have still got a ticket open about some general weirdness, such as not being able to log onto the BT Speedtest, and my IP profile seemingly having got divorced from my sync. rate. I think this points to some kind of mix-up at BT. But I think this might be a different issue, and the recent speed and browsing problems purely coincidental. Certainly not getting the latter at the moment (famous last words).

Thanks for the feedback.

I surmise a resync might sort me out as perhaps the gateway may be the bottleneck but I am loath to do this until I get my Ticket answered it has been days since anyone replied to it frown And IMO it is not as if I was asking hard question(s).

Hmmmm! I woudl prefer "support" to get their answers 'together' but without even a "please bear with us until......" it makes me feel like a mushroom

So what's the risk with the resync? Are you worried you might sync lower, and get your speeds pulled down still further, or something?

Personally, I'd just do it. It's always a good first try when something doesn't seem to be working, and I don't see how it will affect your ticket one way or the other.

I think I spoke too soon...

Data transfer problems have just started again, in the few minutes since I posted.

I'm still connected to the internet, but some pages won't load at all, and it's only with difficulty I managed to get this one.

It remains to be seen whether I can post this!

Try google dns it won't improve your speed but pages do load faster, it was really sluggish yesterday but pages are loading quicker now
